HIKE NOTES/ADVISORIES

*** Alltrails maps are to be used for route finding purposes only.  The elevation gains on the maps are very often much more than those found in more reliable sources.  The gains posted on club descriptions should be a better indication of the real gain. ***

Green Mtn – There are few ways to get to the top of Green Mtn.  Your group leader may know of a different way from the attached Alltrails map.  There is a stream crossing that you may want water shoes for.

Mt Hoffman  – The junction to the Mt Hoffmann trail is just before you dip down to a stream crossing.  It angles sharply back from the trail so it is easy to miss.  The trail was reno’d in 2023 to improve the short but steep section.  After enjoying the vistas to the west from the top, be sure to explore the bluffs that can be reach using an off-shoot trail.  If you want to hike further after joining the main trail, turn right a head to Dyson Falls.  This will add about 5 km of very pleasant walking through aspen forests on a level trail. For those who want to head back to the river there are lots of beautiful places to explore including the falls and the path that goes west along the river.

Indian Oils – Takes you to a wide meadow with an amazing view.  If want to go a little further, head up the hill behind the horse rail and explore the short rock bands.  You can also follow the trails and go as far as you like.

Dyson Falls – This is a pretty place to aim for for lunch.
